Nelson Mullins an Am Law 100 firm is seeking a Litigation Technology Specialist - Forensics to support data management forensic collections and litigation technology initiatives across the firm. This role partners with attorneys clients and internal teams to develop and execute data collection strategies troubleshoot technical issues and ensure the secure handling and analysis of electronic evidence. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects while delivering timely high-quality support in a fast-paced legal environment.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing data tracking data management and litigation technical support functions while coordinating assigned projects to ensure timely and effective execution. Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager this role collaborates closely with attorneys and client technical staff to develop and implement data collection strategies aligned with industry best practices. Responsibilities include troubleshooting technical issues related to data collections; performing forensic data extractions and analysis across computers hard drives mobile devices email and cloud-based sources; and maintaining the integrity of the data and evidence room including audit logs and security protocols. The position also involves conducting remote data collections within client environments as well as traveling (1015%) to perform on-site collections when necessary. The individual will consult with internal team members to support data processing efforts and may contribute to special projects as assigned. This role requires regular interaction with attorneys supervisors and staff across the firm both in person and through electronic communication and a strong working knowledge of the firms technology and standard IT practices to successfully carry out responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelors degree and at least five years of related experience with a demonstrated ability to apply broad knowledge of principles practices and procedures within their area of specialization. Certifications demonstrating expertise in relevant technologies or practices are highly desirable. This individual brings a strong understanding of firm best practices and effectively navigates cross-functional environments to address internal and external business challenges recommending process improvements and innovative solutions. The role requires advanced critical thinking skills sound decision-making within established guidelines and the ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines. The successful candidate communicates complex concepts clearly and persuasively influencing stakeholders across departments and interacting confidently with key decision-makers. Operating with a high degree of independence this individual leads projects or teams of moderate complexity provides guidance on technical issues and serves as a resource to colleagues while ensuring efficiency effectiveness and high-quality outcomes in daily operations.
